The Super Hero month kickstarted with Thor Ragnarok opening on 3rd November followed by Justice League on 17th November wide across cinemas in West Africa.
To share some amazing records made by both films:
Thor Ragnarok opened at N44,487,122 and N116,091,694:00 at the third week of screening. Ranking #1 opener of 2017, #1 of All Time, #1 Marvel opener, #1 Superhero opener and #1 November opener. An outstanding opening for a franchise that grows stronger with each release.
On the other hand, Justice League opened to 40,123,860 raking #2 opener of 2017, #3 of All Time, #1 DC World opener, #2 Superhero opener and #2 November opener. An outstanding opening keeping the Superhero ranking at the top.
In all fair sense, we can say that Batman V Superman was a disappointing movie, failing to meet the humongous expectations riding on it. It was a clear setback for DC, even though Wonder Woman‘s fantastic performance redeemed it slightly. So, many of the viewers were cautious when it came to Justice League, since the trailers look to continue from where BVS left. Though Justice League turned out to be a better movie than BVS, it wasn’t still enough.
